Happy new year lovers!

I’m a little late in the new year wishes as we’re almost through the first month of 2018. I was pretty burnt out by the end of 2017, and so I took a little break from writing. This break has ended up being close to two months – which in blog land is practically a lifetime – but I’m back now baby!

I’m not one for making new year’s resolutions as such, vowing off chocolate and committing to a full on exercise regime has never been sustainable for me. By mid-Jan I generally find myself opting for Netflix and a Snickers bar over going to the gym and restricting my caloric intake.

However, my mission to squash ‘squirting’ taboos and spread my pussy positive vibe in this tiny corner of the internet is one that I’m continuing for a second year running. (Can you believe oh gush is nearly 1 year old?)

Something else that’s carried into 2018 has been that practically every article I’ve read so far this year on female ejaculation/squirting continues to reference the French study published in the Journal of Medicine published nearly 3 years ago.

I’ve talked about this bozo study several times in my posts, but I’ll sum it up quickly (in case you’re new to my rants.) In March 2015,  a French scientist concluded that female ejaculation in the form of squirting isn’t a valid ejaculatory response dismissing it as “the involuntary emission of urine during sexual activity.” The media went ape shit and clung onto this conjecture for dear life. Frankly I’m beyond sick of a single, half-baked study (which consisted of a mere 7 participants) constantly being dredged up to shame women over their natural bodily response to sexual pleasure.

In contrast, I recently came across a genius little video. Appropriately titled: “Ask A Porn Star: “Is Squirt Pee?” the video is comprised of 5 and a half glorious minutes of porn stars discussing this age old question the Western world is fixated on.

While there appears to be a fairly even split in opinion from the ladies featured, including Anikka Albrite, April O’Neil, and Veruca James, it’s their attitude towards the question that’s the real hero.

Highlights

The video contains some absolute gems. It’s also refreshing as fuck to hear from women who are in the unique position of experiencing squirting as a component of their day job, and have formed opinions from their first hand exposure to it. I also get a kick out of their frank and open analysis.

Rain DeGrey’s opinion is one of the first of the ladies included to vouch for squirting’s disparity: “I’m gonna say no… I’ve drunk pee and I’ve drunk squirt, and they are completely different.”

While Amarna Miller agrees that squirt comes from the same part of your body as pee – it’s not the same thing “but some girls fake it and they are peeing in the (pornography) shoots.”

Sheridan Love is a self professed ‘Multiple Squirter” and doesn’t think it’s pee as she makes sure she empties her bladder before sex.

Anikka Albrite says “squirt can be pee, sometimes squirt cannot be pee” and goes on to give a pretty darn accurate explanation of how it occurs:

I think it’s a sweet liquid that is in the urethral gland.. and if the dick, or a dildo or a  finger… if something hits the G-spot enough times, it build up and builds up – and that’s what squirt is.”

Jenna J Ross goes into more detail on the taste: “Squirt tastes like sugar water. So there’s a very distinctive flavour profile difference between urine and squirt.”

Kayla Jane Danger adds some further insight having discovered a few years ago that she has the ability to squirt “I can definitely tell the difference and I can hold the need to pee.. but someone stifling your squirt is much different – it’s something else”

Vyxen Steel declares “It’s female ejaculation – you cannot pee and you cannot squirt at the same time.” This is true for male ejaculation, why not the same for female?

Possibly my favourite comment of the whole video comes from Anna Bell Peaks. She states: “I can tell when a girl pees. The stream that comes out when you pee, has a little… I don’t know… curve to it. Squirt is explosive. So literally, my squirt when it comes out looks like this *makes hand gesture of explosion of fluid* when you pee it doesn’t look like that – it looks like that cute stream.”

Tally

I made a rough tally of those featured in the video who are for/against the argument of pee being, or not being squirt:

Those who disagree (that squirt is not pee):

  • Rain DeGrey
  • Kayla Jane Danger
  • Jenna J Ross
  • Ela Darling
  • Amarna Miller
  • Sheridan Love
  • Anikka Albrite
  • Vyxen Steel
  • Anna Bell Peaks
  • Kenzie Taylor
  • Dava Foxx – although believes after the first time you squirt it’s definitely pee…. (?)

Those in agreement (that squirt is pee):

  • Monica Rise
  • Veruca James – although believes female ejaculation happens that is not pee – but anything shooting at a camera is pee
  • Trinity St Clair
  • Kimberly Kane
  • Anikka Albrite
  • Lily Lane
  • Allee Haze
  • Aubrey Snow
  • Kassondra Raine
  • Dahlia Skye
  • Claire Robbins
  • Daisy Layne
  • Violet Monroe

A mixture ( of squirt and pee):

  • Gabriella Paltrova

On the fence (not sure whether squirt is pee or not)

  • April O’Neil
  • Leya Falcon

Overall consensus

While it would appear that even porn stars can’t all agree whether or not squirting is pee, I think April O’Neil sums it up perfectly in her expressive statement “I don’t know, I don’t care. Whatever makes you feel good, if that happens when you orgasm and it makes you feel better – fucking go for it!”
